SPEECH THERAPY

Therapy in your child's most natural environment following a strengths-based, inclusive and sensory-aware model individualized to meet your child's specific goals and needs.

Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)

AAC is any form of communication that adds to or replaces verbal speech.

Often, we are referring to high-tech AAC like apps or Speech Generating Devices (SGDs).

Someone might benefit from AAC if they have difficulties with verbal communication or require support via auditory/visual language representation, including (but not limited to) people with apraxia or dyspraxia, developmental delays, cognitive impairments, traumatic brain injuries, physical disabilities, stroke, genetic conditions, degenerative diseases, cortical visual impairment (CVI), autistic folks who are nonspeaking or minimally speaking, gestalt language processors whose language is supported with intonation-rich gestalts, etc.

It is our mission to provide everyone with appropriate and accessible means of communication!

Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy

Neurodiversity Affirming Care acknowledges that all neurotypes have unique strengths, interests, and support needs. It is not our goal to "fix" neurodiversity nor require neurodivergent individuals to hide their neurotype, rather to meet every individual where they are at and support them.

Gestalt Language Processing

Gestalt Language Processors develop language in "chunks," which might be phrases, sentences, paragraphs, or entire movies. We call these chunks "scripts" or "gestalts." Gestalts then break into smaller parts, and re-organize into self-generated language.

There are many ways to identify GLPs, the most identifiable being the frequent use of echolalia or scripts to communicate and the keen focus on intonation in speech.
